Adobe Acrobat DC Licensing - Accesing via Terminal Server

$

Hi,

I am looking to utilize 'Adobe Acrobat Pro DC'  via a Terminal Server (Multiple users via 'Dumb' Terminals).

My questions are as follows:

1. Will each 'User/Machine' accessing the Terminal Server require a dedicate Adobe License?

         - If so what licensing (Product Code/Number) will I need to purchase?
or

2. Will a single 'Adobe Acrobat Pro DC' license cover all Users accessing the software via a Terminal Server?

Any help would be appreciated, Thank you.

Adobe Customization Wizard Error code 14

I'm trying to build an Adobe Acrobat package following the instructions from http://tv.adobe.com/watch/acrobat-it-tips-tricks-tutorials/customization-wizard-xi-for-mac -os-x/.  When I try to create the final package the Wizard errors out showing a code 14.  I looked that up and got this: The APTEE tool called from within returned an error. See /tmp/oobelib.log for details. I'm attaching the logs because I cannot figure out why the package is not being created. I can't figure out why the serial number is not being validated.

Adobe Reader DC - ADelRCP.exe prompts for admin rights

I've deployed Adobe Reader DC using the msi and transform created with the Acrobat Customization Wizard DC.

It install fine but when users first run Reader they are prompted for an administrator credentials because the program C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat Reader DC\Reader\ADelRCP.exe is trying to run.

Our users do have local admin rights.  How do I prevent this popup occuring on Reader startup and what does this ADelRCP.exe do?

How to deploy Adobe Reader DC without it taking PDF reader ownership

Hi,

How do i deploy Adobe Reader DC without it taking PDF reader ownership from another non Adobe PDF reader?

My transform file is setup as follows:

Default viewer for PDF files - Installer will decide...

Direct Editor > Properties:

DEFAULT_VERB=Open (changed this from Read)

LEAVE_PDFOWNERSHIP=YES (i added this. I also tried this in the install command line)

OWNERSHIP_STATE=0 (this is for Win8 only. I'm installing on Win7 but thought it couldn't hurt to try it)

I've tried with different variations of the above.

The other PDF reader is Nuance Power PDF Advanced. This is the one i want to remain as the PDF viewer owner.

Thanks,

Aaron

Reader DC Installation Wants to Install Per-User Rather Than Per-Machine

I have a situation where I am trying to deploy Reader DC across our enterprise using Microsoft Configuration Manager 2012.  Per our contract with Adobe we are contractually bond to deploy the latest version on all of our Desktops.  The installation, when run on certain systems, wants to install Reader as per-user rather than per-machine.  I have run the installation with verbose logging and can see in the installer log where the issue occurs.  At this point I have tried all I can to resolve the issue and find the source of the problem.

The issue does not occur on all systems, only specific ones.  SCCM 2012 uses the local SYSTEM account to install the application when it is deployed to an endpoint.  This account has full access to the system and should be able to complete the installation as a per-machine installation without issue.  Below is the information from the installer log when the installation runs per-user.  I have tried setting the MSIINSTALLPERUSER="" and ALLUSERS=2 properties at the command line to try to override the setting in the installer.  The results are the same - ALLUSERS property gets deleted.

MSI (s) (D0:D0) [15:30:04:261]: Determined that existing product (either this product or the product being upgraded with a patch) is installed per-user.

MSI (s) (D0:D0) [15:30:04:261]: PROPERTY CHANGE: Deleting ALLUSERS property. Its current value is '1'.

Deploy Acrobat/Reader With Trusted Certificate Chain (Mac)??

Hello,

Is it possible to deploy a certificate chain, with the Wizard tool or otherwise, during an install of Acrobat DC or Reader DC for Mac? In the Windows counterpart, there is an option to enable certificates already in the system trusted root to be used for signing, however there is no similar option I can see for Mac.

I need to have a particular certificate chain "baked-in" the install in order to allow our users to digitally sign documents properly.

The setting in question that I am referring to is found here in Preferences > Signatures > Identities & Trusted Certificates:

Is it possible perform this import either via bash/shell script or during deployment somehow?

Acrobat pro X error: Cannot use this product under a guest account

We are installing acrobat pro with GP on XP systems. The install goes fine but on some users machines when they launch the program it comes back with

"Cannot use this product under a guest account". The users are admins on the system. If I uninstall acrobat pro 10 and reinstall in manually the same error happens. (note these systems had acrobat pro 9 installed, but was un-installed with the acrobat pro 10 MST)

Hi, I am using adobe reader DC. I would like to customise the installation such that "protected mode at startup" feature is turned off. Currently, i am using GPO from server to client.

i have tried using the following methods below but to no avail for ALL users

Creating key into 'Destination Computer' registry using adobe customisation wizard.

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\10.0\Privileged]

"bProtectedMode"=dword:00000000

And tried this also,

HKLM\Software\Policies\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\10.0\FeatureLockDown\bProtectedMode with a value of 0

Offline Exception for Acrobat Pro DC

$

Hello Community!

I've been struggling to troubleshoot a very bizarre issue with Adobe Acrobat Pro DC.  I'll try my best to explain the situation and I"ll hope that someone anyone can provide some insight.

I've used the Acrobat Customization Wizard DC to grant an offline exception and disable registration for our Acrobat Pro DC product and I've confirmed that our license key is a volume license.  I also added some registry entries required for our environment which includes Internet-connected systems and off-network systems.

Installing the customized package on an Internet-connected system works as expected.  The software launches as expected from any location (i.e. .\Adobe\Acrobat 2015\Acrobat\Acrobat.exe) or the Start Menu and the user is not prompted to sign in.  The results after installing the exact same package on the off-network system are not the same.

First, when launching the program from the Start Menu, the "Please wait while windows configures Adobe Acrobat DC" dialog box appears every time.  When launching the program from the Program Files (x86) folder, this dialog box does not appear.

Second- and regardless of the way the program is launched- the user is presented with an Adobe sign-in screen with two options:  "sign in later" and "sign in now".  The "sign in later" option appears to disable this sign-in screen for an as-yet undetermined amount of time. Obviously, "sign in now" option is not an option for the off-network systems.  Changing the date to several months ahead forces the "Activation Required" dialog box to appear where the only options are "Activate Now" and "Having trouble connecting to the internet?".  Obviously, "Activate Now" is not an option.

Following the manual "Offline Activation" process appears to work but this is not a viable solution considering our environment.  Besides, if the Acrobat Customization Wizard DC provides a mechanism to grant an offline exception and bypass registration, the question remains- why is not working on systems that are not online?

Can anyone shed some light on what might be preventing this installation from working?  Are there additional troubleshooting steps or specific log entries, registry keys, or Windows services that I should be looking for?

I appreciate any help available and look forward to your feedback, support, and encouragement!

Thanks,

Dan Embry

Educational environment help? Anyone deploy Adobe CC suite in an educational environment?

I work for a k-12 School district and this year they jumped from CS6 to CC for all art PCs.  Supposedly, last year these machines ran much better than this year.  The only new piece of software is the CC suite.  I see at least 3 CEF Helper processes running at all times ont hese PCs.  Are there known issues running CS6 and CC on the same PC?   The PCs that the district has them on are i7 3.4 GHz machines with 8GB of ram and a Radeon HD 6450 video cards.   These machines also have autodesk's Suite on them as well, however over the course of the average day, the background processes from all of these programs wind up choking the PC and our students have an awful time using the Adobe suite.    The CC suite was installed on PCs that already contained the CS6 suite, does having both on the same PC cause adverse affects? Any help on the matter is appreciated!

Thanks!

[Acrobat Reader DC] HKCU registry keys are not replicated for each user as for Adobe Reader

$

For Adobe Reader, all the registry keys which are added with the Adobe Customization Wizard are automatically added to each user. Unfortunately, it is not the same with Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.

They registry keys have to be stored in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\2015\Installer\Migrate to be automatically added in the HKCU of the user at its first launch of the application. But they are stored in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\[RegistryHiveName]\Installer\Migrate, as we can see on the screenshot below:

reg.PNG

The problem is probably coming from one of the custom actions. The variable RegistryHiveName is not translated. I didn't make a lot of research, but waiting on a solution from Adobe, I made a PowerShell script which move the registry keys to the correct place:

Move-Item -Path 'HKLM:\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\`[RegistryHiveName`]\Installer\Migrate\*' -Destination 'HKLM:\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\2015\Installer\Migrate' -force

(PowerShell has to be executed in 32 Bits)

If Adobe can correct it in the next version, it would be nice !
